The Network Design Process:
Consultation-Design-Implementation
1. Consultation - A free
initial consultation is offered to review your current Information Technology
issues, to introduce our expertise and to explain our design process.
2. Analysis/Design - After the
initial interview, most clients prefer a full analysis of
their network with a formal plan for the changes that may be
needed to meet current and future needs. Some clients, however,
have only one or two areas of their network that need improvement,
or may need some consult to aid their IT staff. A less formal plan is
needed in these situations. Areas that we will review with you will
include the basic network, but additionally you may want to consider
security issues, disaster recovery planning, training and support, web
presence,
3. Procurement - We can handle
procurement of all hardware, software and any other elements
necessary to complete your design plan.
4. Implementation - Once the
necessary hardware and software is received, we can assure you
that all work will be done in such a way as to minimize the
impact to your day to day operation.
5. Testing - Prior to integration with
your current operation, we test as many systems as may be feasible to
do, to aid a seamless integration.
6. Integration - As you integrate
your new systems into service, we continue to provide the support
necessary to help you expeditiously resolve any issues that arise . This
includes our mediating issues with vendors or others - whatever may be
necessary - to get you, and keep you, running smoothly.
7. Monitoring - We can monitor
on-site or, in many cases, remotely to ensure that updates are
made, system alerts are reviewed and that all phases of your network
remain in peak working order.

Nearly all applications are licensed
rather than sold. Simply allowing an individual or group
to use a piece of software may not keep your
organization protected. There are a variety of different
types of software licenses. Some are based on the number
of machines on which the licensed program can run
whereas others are based on the number of users that can
use the program. Most personal computer software
licenses allow you to run the program on only one
machine and to make copies of the software only for
backup purposes. Some licenses also allow you to run the
program on different computers as long as you don't use
the copies simultaneously.
Software licensing can be a very
confusing part of your corporate network. Let us help
you manage and document your software to ensure your
organization is license compliant.

LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) DESIGN
As a Microsoft Service provider, our local
area networks are based on Microsoft's client server technology.
WIDE AREA NETWORK (WAN) DESIGN
Businesses are constantly adopting new
solutions for accessing their central information systems from remote
locations. These remote locations vary from large offices to
individuals working out of their vehicles with high speed wireless links
in their portable PCs. These wide area networks must be readily
available, fast and secure.
We can help you keep your
network up to date with the latest security software,
updates and patches.
Antivirus
- The growth of
malicious programs has steadily increased from
annoyance to a major security threat. We help
your business address these threats.
Cryptography -
The branch of cryptographic
science which deals with the means, methods, and
apparatus of converting plain text messages into
secret messages and vice versa.
Firewalls -
A firewall is a single point
between two or more networks where all traffic
must pass (choke point); traffic can be
controlled by and may be authenticated through
the device, and all traffic is logged.
lPsec -
IPsec
is a developing architecture that has the goal
to provide interoperable,
cryptographically-based security services for IP
layer environments.
lntrusion
Detection -
Intrusion
Detection Systems collect information from a
variety of vantage points within computer
systems and networks and analyze this
information for symptoms of security breaches.
PC Firewalls -
PC
firewalls are software programs designed to
protect an individual host computer while
connected to the Internet.
Secure Internet
Filtering -
In order to curb abuse and manage
the necessary use of the Internet by employees,
organizations are finding it not only useful but
necessary to employ Internet filtering
technologies to monitor use of the web and
corporate e-mail.
SSL-TLS -
Secure Socket Layer (SSL), and
its offspring Transport layer Security (TLS),
are the most widely deployed security protocols
in the world. Originally designed as a way to
secure browsing of the Web, SSL-TLS
implementations are now used in VPNs, Business
Transaction Servers, Application Servers, as
well as other core business functions.
WLAN -
The Wireless Local Area Network
is one of the fastest growing network
environments. The benefits of mobility for the
enterprise are fueling the tremendous growth.
Your WLAN's security must be sound so it does
not undermine the benefits of the mobility it
provides.
Many system administration and technical
support tasks can be performed remotely on your PCs and
servers without the presence of an on-site technician being
necessary. Approximately 75%
of all technical support requests can be
resolved using remote support service. "Virtual techs"
eliminate the difficulties associated with users or network
administrators having to explain what they see on their
screens over the phone.
Faster problem resolution
results from enhanced availability and less scheduling
conflicts. Problems are often resolved immediately!
Scheduled system maintenance such as software & virus
definition updates, backup processes, etc. can be done in a
more timely fashion keeping your systems out of harm's way.
We also
offer telephone support for hardware and software problems
to help determine if an on-site visit is necessary
Setup of
this service may require installation or modification of
software on each PC and server computer or router that needs
to be made accessible. Firewall configuration changes may
also need to be made.
These plans can start out as simple plans for the
replacement of individual systems that fail from time to time and a plan
for storing regular system backups offsite to a redundant offsite
operation that can take over all systems on a moment's notice.
Some companies survived the 9/11 catastrophe because of their redundant
backup systems.
Hopefully, you will never have to use it, but if you do,
it can be the difference between the loss of your organization and its
survival. It is therefore absolutely critical that it is workable - that
it is of sufficient quality to guide you through the crisis.
Believe it or not but many companies have no routine
backups much less a plan for a disaster. Don't be one of those!
Protect your business by planning ahead before a disaster occurs. Call
us, we can help.
